Radisson Morning Roundtable: Workforce Issues

Thursday, October 4, 2018 - 07:30 to 08:30

Thursday, 4 October saw the first of our members only Radisson Morning Roundtable. Undeterred by the rainy weather and an early start, an engaging group of like-minded businesses/individuals from different sectors attended the informal breakfast to share their knowledge and experience on Workforce Issues. The morning roundtable, led by Dr. oec Irina Senņikova, Rector of RISEBA University of Business, Arts and Technology, was a lively discussion among members who shared their personal experience and raised areas of concern for the future of the labour market and exchanged ideas on how to solve them.

The main points that were discussed were the legislative hurdles for immigration of foreign workforce (including the language law) and shortage of skilled workforce across different sectors. The roundtable discussion was concluded with ideas that BritCham will take forward to FICIL Labour Force Issues work group.

We want to thank Radisson Blu Latvija Conference & Spa Hotel for hosting the first Morning Roundtable and providing a delicious breakfast on the 27th floor. We also would like to thank Dr. oec Irina Senņikova for brilliantly leading the event.

The next Radisson Morning Roundtable will be held on 1 November 2018. Detailed information on topic and venue to follow in due course.
