About Us

BritCham is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation fully supported by and operated for its members. With thirty years of experience in Latvia, BritCham fosters and advances opportunities in the business environment as well as supports trade and investment between Latvia and Great Britain. BritCham is a member of the British Chambers of Commerce (uniting over 50 UK and 75 international chambers) and is a founding member of the Foreign Investors’ Council in Latvia (FICIL).  As such, BritCham provides its members with valuable opportunities to broaden the scope of their networking and cooperation potential.  

Purpose

The aims of BritCham ( as set out in our Articles of Association) include to:

• • further the development of trade and commerce between Great Britain and Latvia;
  • promote and facilitate reputable business relationships
  • provide support and facilitate social contacts for our members
  • support the continued development of principles of fair business practice;

Vision

Together with our members, we are a chamber that delivers:

Values

Integrity We operate with integrity, transparency and accountability with consideration for both Latvian and British work ethics and regulations. Respect We always treat people and businesses the way we would like to be treated and with respect. We are a non-political organisation and as such do not promote/advocate any individual Latvian or UK political party nor expect our Members to do so at BritCham meetings. Trust We believe in each other and what we are working to achieve together

The Board

 

The Board consists of eight elected Board Members, one ex-officio Board Member (who is nominated by the British Ambassador) and the Executive Director who is also ex-officio. Every year elections for Board vacancies are held at the Annual General Meeting.

H.M. British Ambassador is the Honorary Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Latvia. For day-to-day Board activities H.M. Ambassador nominates British Embassy representative.
