Silver Charity Quiz

Our virtual Silver Charity Quiz took place on 27 May to mark BritCham’s 25th Anniversary.

With an amazing turn out of 7 teams of various sizes battling it out to be crowned the winner and claim the top prize – a bespoke British hamper including delicacies such as freshly handmade scones and clotted cream prepared by the British Ambassador’s chef Igors, Pimms, and Fortnum and Masons goodies to name a few.

The event kicked off with a welcome speech from British Ambassador H.E. Keith Shannon for whom this was his last engagement as HMA Riga with BritCham as he will be leaving the post next week. We are grateful for Embassy’s support to the BritCham throughout these past 4 years and we wish all the best to the Ambassador for his future endeavours.

Following a reading of the rules by our main Quiz master Gayle Hume from King’s College, all teams were ready to try their luck and test their general knowledge in six tricky rounds covering the UK and Latvia– the competition was fierce, and we are pleased to announce this year’s Quiz winners were Skonto Team.

We would like to thank all teams who took part in our Quiz-you all did so well knowing how tricky the questions were! But most importantly thank you for supporting BritCham Charity Fund. Thank you for all the generous donations, raising a whopping 1160 EUR for our fund which is supporting the Allaži Crisis Centre which helps children who have suffered from physical, sexual and emotional violence.

We would also like to congratulate Eversheds Sutherland Bitans team for winning the prize of the most generous team – thank you for your generosity.

We hope that the next Quiz will be hosted in person so we can all finally meet again.
