BritCham Season Opening: Curry&Bingo Night

The BritCham Season Opening officially took place on 21 September, with our long awaited ‘Curry & Bingo Night’. We welcomed 70 members & guests and were delighted to finally meet all our members in person. This season marks the start of our 25th season, and what great way to start and celebrate with two great British favourites!

Our Chairman of the Board Mr Cameron Greaves, started proceedings with his warm welcome speech and was excited to welcome and introduce our new Honorary Chairman – the British Ambassador to Latvia H.E. Paul Brummell CMG.

This was followed by members getting reacquainted over some drinks and a lavish spread of authentic Indian Curry and the natural accompanying drink, Cobra beer, all provided by our Platinum member Restaurant Singh’s, and for our wine lovers, Casa Nostra provided an amazing selection of wines from their restaurant.

Following dinner our guests had the chance to get in the competitive spirit by playing a few rounds of Bingo – thank you to our amazing Bingo caller Gayle Hume from King’s College.

We are also pleased to report that competition is alive and well as our members raised a further 295 EUR from the sales of extra Bingo tickets which will all go to BritCham’s Charity Fund.

We would like to particularly thank our generous supporters and sponsors, without who we couldn’t have had such a wonderful get-together event – Restaurant Singh’s and in particular our Board Member Kully Singh for providing the wonderful curry, beer and Bingo winner prize; our newest Corporate Plus Member Rīgas Porcelāns for supporting the event; AC Hotel by Marriott Riga for being as always accommodating and providing the wonderful venue for the event; Casa Nostra for providing the finest Italian wines and gift cards for Bingo winners; International School of Riga for providing their Grade 12 Student Ujjwal to help with the registration and ad-hoc tasks throughout the event to make sure that everything ran smoothly, and last but not least Riga Graduate School of Law for the Bingo prizes. Thank you also to our members who attended the event thus proving once more what a strong and friendly BritCham Community we have.
